Wire Mill Saloon & Barbecue, 12 Old Mill Road, Redding: Here you'll experience a country atmosphere and Southern barbecue food which you can enjoy outside on a very large patio with fire pit.

Pete M. on Google a few days ago posted this, "First of all, the food is amazing. If you want GREAT BBQ, then you must go to the Wire Mill. I have yet to try anything I haven't liked. Pulled pork, brisket, ribs, wings, and if you're feeling like you need to really overdo it, try the Fat Jackson. I could only eat half of it... Gino and Robin are wonderful owners and really care about their restaurant and their customers. A must try!"

Bobby Q's Cue & Co., 11 Merwin St, Norwalk: Here you will find smoked meat, a long list of bourbon, and plenty of children's meals.

"Amazing food! Fantastic atmosphere! Excellent service. The meat was tender, the ribs were thick and juicy, the maple bacon butter on the cornbread is amazing," a recent Google post says.

HooDoo Brown BBQ, 967 Ethan Allen Highway, Ridgefield: From fried chicken and cornbread waffles with maple syrup to blackened catfish, this place always packed.

"Incredible Texas style BBQ. I live over an hour away but am always down to make the trip. The food is fantastic and the staff is extremely friendly. Always a great time, get here for prime rib Thursdays! These guys are so good my brother ended up hiring them to cater to my engagement party and they brought so much food we were eating pulled pork and brisket for days!"

Planeta Brazil Brazilian Steakhouse, 48 Newtown Road, Danbury: A Brazilian barbecue has a steady following from Greater Danbury here.

A Google review explains why.

"Amazingly affordable, yet delicious food. It has become our new favorite place since we stopped in by chance around Valentine's day.

They have an "all you can eat" price and a weigh-by-plate price. The "sides" are buffet style and then you go to the meat counter and pick out your meats. The sides were also delicious. They had the classic Brazilian sides like rice and beans, plantains."

Drumstik Bar-B-Q, 4189 Main St., Bridgeport: Counter serve for barbecue and Southern-style fried chicken, plus classic sides.

"Love them!!!! Drove 45 mins to try them out and it was definitely worth it. Everything was beyond good. Real soul food. Not many can cook them just right but they did. Definitely will be coming back," says a Google post.

Another person on Google describes the food.

"I order 20 piece Wingettes, potato salad, SWEET YAMS (are the bomb), dirty rice, Ribs. Everything was Amazing! Best Soul Food."
